2. Unplug the power cords.

See “Disconnect Power Cords From the Server” on page 62.

3. Attach an antistatic wrist strap.

4. Remove the hard drive that is adjacent to the DVD/USB module.

The number of this HDD will vary, depending on the backplane type:

■ 4-disk capable backplane: remove HDD3

■ 8-disk capable backplane: remove HDD7

See “Eight-Drive Capable Backplane Configuration Reference” on page 78.

■ 16-disk capable backplane: remove HDD13

See “Sixteen-Drive Capable Backplane Configuration Reference” on page 79.

5. Release the DVD/USB module from the hard drive backplane.

Use the finger indentation in the hard drive bay below the DVD/USB module to

extend the release tab.
